Fender Champ Lap Steel Vintage 1956
Vintage Tweed Era Fender Guitar
Strat Style Pickup
Excellent Clean Orig Condition
Includes Original Tweed Hard Case
This nice original one owner 1956 Fender Champ Lap Guitar is in excellent original condition. Normal playing wear on the body such as a few dings and dents, but overall very shiny and great looking. Body bottom has no felt pad. Body finish front and rear are in great condition. Guitar was obviously played a lot in the 12th position on the high strings. Marker Board (Fretboard) is edge worn in that area. Pots date 41st week of 1955, and a Red Astron Cap provides tone, and the pickup looks just like a 1956 Strat pickup except it's pole pieces are not staggered. Pickup reads 5.39 Ohm, which is about the same as a 1956 Strat pickup. Serial Number is 0111. Chrome is clean and unpitted. Tuning Key Plate is clean and shiny, and the original tuning keys still have the original black buttons.
This guitar was played, but clearly well taken care of. The paint is shiny and the body has only the light wear you'd expect to find on a Champ that was played.
Comes with an old Patent Number Stevens Slide, 2 Nickel Plated Dunlop Patent Pending Finger Picks, and 1 Nickel Plated Jim Dunlop Patent Number Thumb Pick, all from the same era as the Champ. They are included.
Original Tweed Case has really nice clean tweed on the top and sides, but the bottom has a 4"X4" section, and a 1"X2"section (more or less) of the tweed cloth missing. The 4 feet are there. All latches and hinges work well. Other than the flaw on the bottom, it's in excellent condition and it is included.
If you appreciate Classic Vintage 1950's Fender Guitars that sound great,
you'll love it this Champ!
